Recently the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco “ruled that residential treatment was medically necessary for eating disorders…” The insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, has appealed the ruling claiming that residential treatment for eating disorders should not be viewed as medical treatment.
